Christmas comes early for Pret and Noddy Holder (right)

Pret A Manger has brought back its Christmas sandwich for a limited time this summer to satisfy demand among customers who missed out last December.

Sales of the festive favourite, which will be available in Pret shops nationwide until the first week of August, will also raise money for charity, with 50p from each sandwich sold donated to the Pret Foundation to fight poverty, hunger and homelessness.

The sandwich features British turkey in a port & orange sauce with herby pork stuffing, baby spinach, free range mayo and crispy onions.

Noddy Holder, lead singer of 1970s Christmas hit-makers Slade, has been enlisted by Pret to star in a video promoting the roll-out. The company also celebrated on 6 July by giving away 100 of the sandwiches to customers of the branch in Wardour Street, west London.

“Every year customers ask us for the Christmas sandwich to return earlier and earlier, and after many customers missed out on having one last year we’ve decided to stand by our mission of spreading joy through our food and coffee, and bring our iconic Christmas sandwich back early for a limited time this summer,” said Clare Clough, UK managing director of Pret A Manger.

“While we can’t change the weather or the football scores this summer, we can help people celebrate and recreate some festive joy by reuniting them with their favourite Christmas sandwich.”

The Christmas sandwich will be available via Pret’s delivery partners such as Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat, as well as in store.
