This feature will explore what farm shops are looking from bakery suppliers and how the two types of businesses can work together for the benefit of everybody involved.

We’re looking to hear from both types of businesses for this feature. To get involved, please send comments in response to the below questions:

  • What are the main types of baked goods sold through farm shops?
  • What are farm shops looking for from bakery suppliers? How does this differ by type of bakery item (pies, bread, cakes, for example)?
  • What processes or certification does a bakery supplier need, if any, to supply farm shops?
  • How importance is the provenance of ingredients to farm shops?
  • What are the benefits for a bakery in gaining a farm shop listing?
  • Are there any challenges to fulfilling this type of contract? The quantity of goods required, for example? Logistical issues relating to location? Etc…
