As the heating goes on and the jumpers come out, coffee shops and cafés have unveiled their autumn menus.
Alongside the classic sweet flavours such as maple and apple are savoury treats including marinated aubergine, fennel salami and – in the first brand collaboration for M&S Café – cheese and Marmite toasties.
Here we take a look at some of the new sweet and savoury products that will be keeping shoppers warm this autumn.
Caffè Nero
“I’m really excited by our autumn menu,” says Caffè Nero UK managing director Glyn House. “We have authentic Italian sandwiches which really are delicious, and our sweet treats are going to excite a lot of people. I can’t wait for our customers to try them.”

Pistachio Croissant
Baked in store, this buttery, flaky croissant is given a flavour boost with the pistachio crème filling found inside.

Apple Crumble & Custard Tart
A Sweet Bramley apple tart with vanilla custard ‘cheesecake’ and cinnamon crumble. Caffè Nero is also selling a Ginger Crumble Loaf Cake, a moist ginger loaf with warm spices and a crunchy brown sugar crumble topping. Both are suitable for vegans.

Italian Marinated Aubergine & Sundried Tomato Puccia
Made in Italy, this traditional Pugliese flatbread is filled with marinated aubergine, sundried tomatoes, mozzarella and salsa verde. This is the first time the Puccia bread has featured on a Caffè Nero menu.

Italian Fennel Salami, Cotto Ham & Mozzarella Focaccia
A rich Italian extra virgin olive oil focaccia is filled with Fennel salami, prosciutto cotto, mozzarella, and a zesty, herb-filled salsa verde.

Hot wraps
Two new hot wraps have been launched by Caffè Nero: Chicken & Basil featuring chicken in a tomato-basil sauce with mozzarella and fresh spinach; and Falafel & Mozzarella with spinach & pine nut falafels, smoky chipotle-paprika chutney, roasted red pepper and creamy mozzarella.
Costa Coffee
“This autumn, we’ve brought back the flavours our customers know and love, like the iconic maple hazel drinks range, alongside new, tasty products from the Salami, Mozzarella & Hot Honey Panini to the Maple Hazelnut Cookie Sandwich,” says Costa Coffee global food and beverage innovation director Nishant Bhatia.

Salami, Mozzarella & Hot Honey Panini
A seed-topped panini featuring Italian mozzarella, Milano salami and spinach, with a roasted pepper sauce and a drizzle of hot honey.

Maple Hazelnut Cookie Sandwich
A white chocolate cookie sandwich, filled with maple and caramel frosting, drizzled with icing and roasted hazelnut pieces. Five pence from each purchase will be donated to the Costa Foundation that aims to provide the opportunity of a safe, quality education.
M&S Café
The autumn M&S Café menu feature a host of new toasties including the café’s first-ever brand collaboration – a Cheese & Marmite Toastie.

Crispy herby butter topped sourdough, rich Marmite bechamel with cheddar and Emmental slices.

Cheese & Onion Toastie
Crispy butter-topped sourdough with pink pickled onions, three-cheese bechamel (cheddar, Emmental and red Leicester) and a slice of Emmental.
New York Salt Beef Toastie
A crusty butter-topped sourdough toastie filled with three cheeses including cheddar, red Leicester and slices of Emmental, a bechamel & gherkin mix, pulled salt beef and sauerkraut.
BBQ Chicken & Bacon Toastie
Golden butter-topped sourdough with a three-cheese bechamel and smoked bacon mix, roast chicken breast pieces, Emmental cheese and a BBQ sauce.

Gluten Free Bacon Roll
A lightly toasted and buttered gluten-free white bun filled with British smoked bacon rashers.

Halloumi & Avocado Ciabatta
A toasted ciabatta bun filled with grilled halloumi, smashed Collection Avocado from the M&S Foodhall and a tomato and chilli chutney.

Mediterranean Style Chicken Bloomer Toastie
British chicken in romesco style sauce and red pepper tapenade, sprinkled with feta and fresh basil leaves in bloomer bread.
Mozzarella & Pesto Bloomer Toastie
Mozzarella and soft cheese topped with basil & pine nut pesto and finished with Italian matured cheese, roasted tomato and fresh basil leaves in bloomer bread.

White Chocolate & Cherry Blondie
A white chocolate blondie swirled with Morello cherry jam, decorated with white chocolate flavoured drizzle and freeze-dried cherry pieces.

Blueberry Crumble Croissant Bun
A golden, flaky croissant bun filled with blueberry compote, topped with an all-butter crumble and hand-finished with fresh blueberries and a dusting of icing sugar.
