A new bakery and bar concept has opened in Truro, Cornwall.
Set over three floors and with space for 40 covers, the bakery-bar hybrid offers cakes and other baked goods during the day and cake-inspired cocktails, among other alcoholic drinks, after 10pm.
The bakery menu includes banana bread, lemon drizzle cake, gluten-free brownies and vegan cookies in the permanent round-up, with others on rotation throughout the week. It also offers morning pastries and will sell cheese toasties from next week.
All of the baking is done in house by co-founder Lucy Curnow, who has worked in hospitality since she was 15 and baked cakes from a young age.
Curnow said she had dreamed of having a cake shop since being very young, and that she was “so proud” to have achieved that dream by the age of 25.
A number of other hybrid bakery premises have opened this year, including bakery-restaurant concepts Singapulah & Arôme and A.O.K Kitchen. Other recent bakery openings include Warrens Bakery’s new site at Gatwick Airport, and Ridiculously Rich By Alana’s new bakery and shop.
