Belgium-based Pidy has extended its award-winning Trendy collection with two new tartlets.
The pastry manufacturer’s Micro Trendy tartlet is a one-bite size base at 3cm x 1.7cm, while the Trendy Shallow features a lower rim at 8cm x 1.1cm.
The shortcrust pastries included a crisp texture and buttery flavour to cater to all occasions, according to the firm.
Micro Trendy was suitable for creating “elegant mouthfuls of all kinds” and Trendy Shallow provided “an innovative take on traditional sweet tartlets”, added the company.
“It’s an honour that the popularity of our Trendy collection allows us to continue innovating new designs that provide even more culinary possibilities for our customers,” said Robert Whittle, managing director at Pidy UK.
The shallow variety has been designed to make it easier to hold fillings and delicate garnishes. Once filled, it can also be served upside down to create a smooth base for toppings.
“Both tartlets have the award-winning melt-in-the-mouth sweet shortcrust pastry Pidy is renowned for, but the new shapes help us provide solutions for all occasions, whether an event or restaurant menu.”
Designed for foodservice specialists, the new shapes can be combined with cold or warm applications, and hold their shape once filled.
