Pukka Pies, which celebrates its 55th birthday this year, is launching a nationwide search for the UK’s biggest pie fan.
Consumers can enter via Pukka’s Facebook and Twitter pages until 31August. They will be asked to send a picture or short video explaining or showing why they believe they are the ultimate pie fan.
“Celebrating 55 years isn’t just about Pukka – it’s about the people who love Pukka Pies,” said Pukka marketing head Lindsay Filmer.
Four finalists will be selected and awarded a goody bag filled with Pukka merchandise. It will be left to followers of the brand to decide will be crowned the UK’s ultimate pie fan, via a social media poll. The winner will be given a year’s supply of Pukka Pies and an exclusive tour of the Pukka bakery.
Filmer added: “We’re looking for those dedicated pie fans, who ooze personality and can truly prove their love for pies – whether they have treated themselves to a pie every Thursday for the past 10 years, have a pie-themed bedroom or a pie-inspired wedding… we want to see it all!”
The push is the latest marketing activity for the brand following its £8m relaunch last year, which included new recipes and a packaging revamp.
