Subway and Cadbury promise ‘it’s no yolk’ as the brands team up to offer a limited-edition SubMelt made with Cadbury Creme Egg as part of their Easter celebrations.

These ‘egg-stra special’ sweet treat sees Cadbury Creme Eggs toasted in a six-inch Italian white sub resulting in a sandwich that the businesses describe as ‘golden toasted on the outside and deliciously gooey on the inside’.

Just 500 SubMelts will be made available for one day only (Friday 7 April) at four selected Subway outlets nationwide – Tottenham Court Road in London, Ranelagh Street in Liverpool, Peniel Green Road in Swansea, and Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow. Each restaurant will have a limited number of the subs to give away for free.

“We’re delighted to have collaborated with Cadbury this Easter,” said Rusty Warren, senior NPD and product innovation manager at Subway. “All the team at Subway are especially excited to see how those Subway fans with a sweet tooth respond to this delicious SubMelt.”

Cadbury Creme Egg brand executive Charlotte Docker said they “simply couldn’t resist an approach from Subway to create the Submelt.

“The highly-anticipated Creme Egg season is in full swing and we’re so excited to launch this innovative product with Subway as a final hoorah of the season. We can’t wait for the response of those lucky enough to try this surprisingly delicious merging of sweet and savoury.”

This isn’t the first time Subway has teamed up with an iconic brand on a limited-edition offering. In 2021 the sandwich giant embraced the classic crisp sandwich by partnering with Walkers to allow customers to add ready salted crisps to their subs, wraps, and salads. At the time, customers were asked if they would like to ‘crisp in’ or ‘crisp out’ for their order.
