Think you’re the cupcake king or queen? Now’s your chance to let your cakes shine, as British Baker launches its search for Britain’s Best Cupcake Baker 2010.

The contest is part of National Cupcake Week, running from 13-19 September, which celebrates this rapidly growing sector, and welcomes entries from cake specialists, craft and in-store bakeries. Last year’s overall winner was a retro Black Forest Cupcake by Kevin Sibley of Mama’s Cupcakes.

You will need to send in information, including a photo, description, sources of inspiration and details about your business. For the final judging process, shortlisted bakers will be expected to deliver a batch of 12 identical cakes and the recipe for their cupcakes. Entrants must already be selling cupcakes commercially. The closing date is 16 July.
