Callebaut contest

Belgian chocolate maker Callebaut is celebrating its 100th anniversary by sponsoring a contest to win one of five trips for two to a cocoa farm in Ghana. Chocolate professionals need to submit their name, upload a picture of themselves, and submit a testimonial about why they enjoy working with Callebaut chocolate, by 1 September, at Callebaut100Years.com.

Expert bakery day

Renshaw brands out

Renshaw has launched its six-strong range of branded consumer goods, which are set to go on sale in the major multiples as well as craft- and sugarcraft shops. Product variations, such as the Snip and Swirl ready-filled piping bags and Simplymelt products, will also be available for professional bakers through wholesalers.

Haldanes goes under

Supermarket chain Haldanes has gone into administration and closed 20 stores. However, Haldane Retail Group’s subsidiary, Bakery Products, which it set up two months ago to buy Woodhead Bakery’s Scarborough bakery and 11 shops, is unaffected.
