Manchester-based artisan bakery Trove has launched a crowdfunding campaign to help fund expansion plans.
As reported in the Manchester Evening News, the bakery and café wants to double its dining spaces to 40 and open an evening bar facility.
Trove is run by husband and wife Marcus and Katy Saide, who hope to raise £35,000 through crowd-funding website Kickstarter and an equal amount via a loan. So far they have reached over £6,000 and are offering a range of benefits to investors including hand-written letters of thanks and catering for parties.
Katy told the Manchester Evening News: “It’s been on the cards for a little while now. When we renewed our lease earlier this year we were given an extra space at the back, which was part of the shop next door.
“We’ve had the architect’s drawings back and what will happen is the kitchen will move into the new space and where the kitchen is now will become more seating.
“We’ve also got an alleyway which we will try and incorporate into the building, so people can sit outside. It’s not a massive space but it will bring some light in.”
Currently, the bakery and café produces a range of artisan cakes and organic breads. The bread range, including sourdough and rye loafs, is also sold wholesale to local shops and eateries.
