There’s just one weekend left before the British Baker webinar on ‘How AI and technology is changing the baking industry’.

The free-to-join webinar takes place at midday on Tuesday 30 September – and there’s several compelling reasons why you should sign up.

Bakery businesses have been rapidly ramping up their use of artificial intelligence (AI), using it for all manner of things from monitoring production lines to providing retail shop support, and even the creation of new flavour combinations. As technology becomes more advanced, this is likely just the start.

During the webinar, expert speakers from BakeTran, Made Smarter, Bread Holdings (Gail’s and The Bread Factory), and Mademoiselle Desserts will each give presentations on how AI has the potential to help firms in various sectors of the baking industry, and of different sizes.

Among the topics being discussed are the evolution of technology, the way data and AI models can be combined with heuristic information, the principles behind a decision to implement AI and the solutions it presents, plus a real life example of AI tackling an NPD brief from a customer.

Immediately following the presentations, the webinar will switch to a live Q&A session with the entire panel who will field burning questions from audience members. These can be submitted either in the build-up to the event, via the pre-event lobby, or whilst the webinar is being broadcast.

Here’s the speaker line-up:

  • Stanley Cauvain, director, BakeTran
  • Kevin Smith, lead technology adoption specialist, Made Smarter
  • Darren Wilkinson, chief technology officer, Bread Holdings
  • Melissa Shaw, product development controller, Mademoiselle Desserts
  • Dan Riley, deputy editor, British Baker (moderator)
