A strong innovation pipeline and ‘clear focus’ on consolidating its legacy businesses has seen Fox’s Burton’s Companies (FBC UK) boost operating profit by nearly £20m over the past year.
The company – which was formed in early 2022 when Fox’s Biscuits and Burton’s Biscuits merged – reported consolidated revenues of £695m for the year ending 31 August 2025 representing a 9% increase on the year prior. Additionally, continued growth in both branded and own label biscuits saw operating profit rise from £11.5m to £31.2 million.
As the manufacturer behind brands including Maryland Cookies, Fox’s Chocolatey, Jammie Dodgers, and Wagon Wheels, FBC UK also grew its branded sweet biscuit market share from 12.5% to 13% which it said secured it the position as the UK’s second largest sweet biscuit manufacturer. It also claimed it was the only major player in sweet biscuits to grow both value and volume, noting 10% and 6% growth, respectively, in what was a ‘challenging year for the category’.
The performance, according to the company, reflects a ‘clear focus’ on consolidating the legacy businesses (Fox’s Biscuits and Burton’s Biscuits) and a strong innovation pipeline.
NPD highlights included include the debut of Maryland S’wich, the UK’s first chocolate chip cookie sandwich, as well as a major relaunch of Fox’s Chocolatey which was supported by a high-profile campaign featuring Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood. Fox’s Chocolatey also tapped into global flavour trends with the launch of a Dubai-style variant.

“This financial year has been a positive year of growth across all key financial metrics, delivered through maximising the opportunities of consolidating the legacy businesses and a strong new product development pipeline,” said CEO Simon Browne.
“Despite a challenging operating environment, we have successfully outperformed the market and increased our branded sweet biscuit market share. This is testament to the dedication of our teams at FBC UK who continue to show up every day with a shared commitment to creating great products that people enjoy and delivering a high standard of consumer experience.”
The company is set to continue to drive international growth, champion British baking excellence, and deliver beloved products to consumers around the globe.
Building on the successful launch of Jammie Dodgers in Australia and an increased presence in the Middle East, FBC UK is focused on expanding into priority markets and unlocking new opportunities. Alongside this, the business will build on its role as the UK sales and distribution agent for Danish brand Royal Dansk Butter Cookies, which it assumed distribution for in June 2025, while continuing to manage Nonni’s Bakery, a US-based biscotti business.
The business – which operates seven production sites in Batley, Blackpool, Edinburgh, Kirkham, Livingston, Llantarnam, and Uttoxeter and employs more than 3,800 people – also made strides on its sustainability journey during its latest financial period. This included completing its first company-wide carbon footprint and received validation of its climate targets from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
