Costa has unveiled a raft of new vegan, sweet and savoury baked goods as part of its latest menu rolled out for the new year.

Coinciding with Veganuary, the coffee chain announced an expansion of its collaboration with vegan brand Bosh! for some new plant-based options, along with returning ones.

The new bakery products join the launch of Costa’s ‘ground-breaking’ new range of hot milkshakes (in flavours of White Chocolate & Strawberry, Salted Caramel Coffee, and Chocolate Hazel), which it claims will ’make the Winter months warmer and taste buds more joyful’.

Here’s a closer look at a selection of new items now available across Costa’s estate nationwide:

This new wrap sees a tomato tortilla filled with plant-based chicken in a spicy tomato and herb sauce, and roasted red peppers.

Toasties are a Costa customer favourite, offering comfort food in the colder months. The newest toastie to appear on the menu has plant-based smoky ham with vegan cheeze and plant-based mayonnaise on white bread. There are also Chicken & Bacon, Hog Roast, and Heinz Beanz & Cheese varieties making their return at the kick off of a new year.

Coming back to the Costa menu is the lightly toasted breakfast roll with plant-based spread, filled with plant-based sausages. Another returning vegan item is the Plant-Based Smokin’ BBQ Chicken Panini, which consists of a stone-baked sourdough panini filled with plant-based chicken in a smoky BBQ sauce, roasted peppers, vegan cheeze, and fresh spinach.

Newly rolled out for Costa customers in 2024 is this savoury pastry featuring a classic British combination of seasoned pork sausage meat with pulled pork and Bramley apples in an all-butter puff pastry, topped with pork crackling.

This sweet treat – new for 2024 – comprises vegan dark chocolate and caramelised biscuit base filled with glace cherries and crisp rice, topped with vegan marshmallows, biscuit spread and more biscuit pieces. Also making its debut this year is Double Chocolate Cookie, a plant-based chocolate cookie with dark chocolate chunks that is even better when enjoyed warm, according to Costa.

Joining the newcomers for the new year is this vibrant-looking vanilla sponge filled with raspberry jam and orange frosting, topped with raspberries and candied orange peel. The Banana Loaf Cake is another new arrival consisting of a banana sponge flavoured with banana puree, and topped with a sugar glaze for a rich caramelised flavour. Meanwhile, the Lemon Drizzle Loaf Cake is back with a new and improved recipe, including an addition of marbled lemon glaze and lemon oil which Costa claims makes it even more indulgent in delivering a zingy tartness.

The branded confectionery collaboration returns for another year, along with the Salted Caramel Brownie, the Blueberry Muffin, the Sicilian Lemon Muffin, the Chocolate Cornflake Cake, the Chocolate and Pecan Slice, and the vegan and gluten-free Fruity Flapjack.
