Swansea-based independent bakers Panini’s has launched a range of gluten-free products following a £200,000 investment from Lloyds Bank that enabled the business to redevelop part of its bakery.
The re-development was prompted by increased demand for gluten-free products from its key clients.
The management team at Panini’s approached the bank, which granted them a £200,000 hire purchase facility. The investment has enabled the bakery to buy new machinery and spread the payments over an agreed timeframe.
Brothers Giovanni and Fabrizio Amieni, who founded the business in 1997, have grown the business from a small high-street bakers to supplying every state-run hospital and school in Wales.
“We’ve worked with Lloyds Bank for a number of years, and it’s been beneficial to work with a team of managers who completely understand our business and can provide support,” Giovanni said.
“We’re always looking to develop new products. Our chef is currently looking to expand both our traditional and gluten free ranges to ensure our customers continue to have an exceptional choice of products.”
Following the investment, the business expects to achieve a turnover of £2.5 million in the next 12 months.
