Bristol-based Hart’s Bakery has rolled out a Saturday market featuring different stalls each week.
Running each Saturday in December from 9am-2pm, the bakery has invited artists and makers to set up in front of its premises in Temple Meads for its ‘Small is Beautiful’ event.
Each week will have a different small group of independent traders, such as potters, jewellers, wine merchants, as well as woodcraft and essential oil suppliers.
“We wanted to offer something a bit different to the traditional Christmas markets, which can be very overwhelming, so we have hand-picked a small selection of really high-quality traders that don’t normally appear at such events,” Hart’s Bakery owner Laura Hart told British Baker.
“Offering a unique selection of gifts for Christmas, the market is set up directly in front of the bakery to add to the festive atmosphere, with people coming for mince pies and all our other baked goods.”
Alongside the market, visitors can purchase baked goods from Hart’s Bakery, such as its mince pies, ginger biscuits, piccalilli and spiced quince Danish.
