The Restaurant Show will shift from its London base to be part of the industry-renowned UK Food & Drink Shows in Birmingham from next year.
As the flagship trade exhibition for restaurateurs, chefs, and operators of casual dining, pub, bar, and street food outlets, The Restaurant Show was previously held in London venues for over 30 years. The move will see it benefit from the central location and national scale of the UK’s largest food and drink event, which will run from 29 April to 1 May 2024 at the Birmingham NEC.
Supported by William Reed’s portfolio of media publications, which includes British Baker, the UK Food & Drink Shows deliver over 1,200 exhibitors to a highly engaged visitor base of industry professionals and are viewed as the go-to events for the entire supply chain.
“London has been a great home for The Restaurant Show, however the UK needs a national show that is representative of the entire industry,” commented Andrew Reed, managing director – Wine and Exhibitions at William Reed.
“This has been in the making for some time, as we continue to grow the hospitality audience at the UK Food & Drink Shows. With 30% of our existing audience in Birmingham operating in hospitality, the timing is right to build on the UK’s largest food and drink event.
“We remain as committed as ever to providing the hospitality industry with the content, education and inspiration that will help them thrive. The UK Food & Drink Shows provide the perfect platform to achieve this, offering visitors and exhibitors the platform to engage with a wider pool of business opportunities and gain inspiration from adjacent sectors,” Reed added.
Having just wrapped up earlier this week at Olympia London, The Restaurant Show 2023 saw significant investments made to deliver a world-class content programme over three days. This included dedicated areas for restaurant trends, bar & drinks insight, and chef mentoring sessions, with speakers including chefs Tommy Banks, Michael O’Hare, Sally Abé, Greg Marchand, and Philli Armitage-Mattin, as well as Sacha Lord, Emma McClarkin, and Helen Charlesworth.
Next year in Birmingham, it will be joining the likes of Britain’s Best Loaf, Farm Shop & Deli Show, National Convenience Show, and The Forecourt Show.
Meanwhile, William Reed retains a strong footprint in the capital with 21 of its 36 hospitality events hosted in London including the Baking Industry Awards, The Publican Awards, The Restaurant Conference, The Pub Conference, and National Restaurant Awards.
