Black Friday? Pieminister offers Black Pieday

Bristol-based pie chain Pieminister will be giving away frozen surplus pie stock in return for donations to homeless charity Shelter on Friday.

With many preparing for a spending spree, Pieminister said it wanted to turn Black Friday "on its head and use it to do something good”.

There will be award-winning free-range British chicken pies, British beef steak pies and vegetarian pies while stocks last in pop-up Pieminister shops.

The pop-up shops open at 8.30am this Friday 25 November at the following locations:

  • Broad Quay & Stokes Croft, Bristol
  • Long Row, Nottingham
  • Duncan Street, Leeds
  • Gabriel’s Wharf & Leather Lane, London
  • The Northern Quarter, Manchester
  • St Mary’s Street, Cardiff

It will open the same day at 11am in:

  • Trentham, Stoke-On-Trent
  • The Covered Market, Oxford

Pieminister also ran a ‘Little Acts of Pieness’ campaign this year, where pies were donated to good causes. It pledged to give away more than 10,000 surplus pies over the summer.

It said on its website: “Black Pieday is a #littleactofpieness for Shelter.”
