Fresh prepared foods manufacturer Bakkavor is set to hire 100 new members of staff at its factory in Bourne, Lincolnshire.

The site is looking to fill vacancies in a range of roles including production operatives, team leaders and other skilled positions.

The recruitment drive is part of a broader Bakkavor initiative across the country following the employment of an additional 1,000 people last year.

The company said it was increasing capacity to meet higher demands from customers.

Jonathan Zair, head of operations at Bakkavor business Bourne Prepared Produce, said this was an exciting time for the company.

“We have a number of different roles on offer and we look forward to welcoming the new colleagues to our team,” Zair said.

The business is a major employer in the Bourne area, with more than 1,200 people working at the site, which produces a range of products for the major supermarkets.

Bakkavor currently employs more than 16,000 people across its UK sites and recently hired Yvette Sowerby as technical director.
