Paul to open Express site on Tottenham Court Road

French bakery and patisserie brand Paul UK is to open its second Express shop on Tottenham Court Road on Monday 13 May.

Adjacent to Warren Street tube station, the 58sq ft shop will focus on quick service and will offer a smaller breakfast and lunch range, with new hot grab-and-go options, including porridge, savoury croissants, sausage rolls and soups.

It comes a year after the ‘successful’ opening of the first Paul Express store at St Pancras, which is located just before the departure gates for the Eurostar.

“We are thrilled to be opening our second Paul Express shop. We are excited about the scalability of this concept and are looking at further opportunities to roll out this model,” said Gary Cowells, operations director of Paul UK.

Paul opened its first London flagship store in Covent Garden in 2000 and, since then, has gone on to open a further 37 stores in locations across London, including Marylebone, Regent Street and Wimbledon. The brand also has sites in Oxford and one in Newbury.

Paul is also gearing up to launch its first mobile payment and loyalty app exclusively for UK customers. It will replace the bakery’s existing loyalty card – La Carte Noire – allowing customers to collect reward points and receive tailored offers via their phones.
