Co-op is looking to cater for major international sporting event celebrations with its summer 2024 range, which features ready-to-eat picnic lines inspired by recipes from home and abroad.
While new wraps and sandwiches showcase Chinese, Mexican, Italian, and Northwest African cuisines, the savoury pastries and sweet treats have a quintessentially British vibe.
“The summer season is really important for us and we work hard to deliver flavours and products we know our members-owners and customers want,” commented Nicole Tallant, head of Co-op brand. “Our product development team have taken inspiration from culinary innovations both locally and globally, creating summer staple foods that can be enjoyed whatever the British summer weather throws at us.”
Below are the ten limited-edition bakery NPD hitting shelves at Co-op stores nationwide:
Wraps & Sandwich
A trio of new wraps includes the Salt & Pepper Chicken Wrap (rsp: £3.85 | 227g), comprising British chicken goujons with mixed vegetables, spinach, and chilli mayo in a chilli tortilla wrap. There’s also the Steak Fajita Wrap (£3.85 | 209g) – made with steak strips, vegetables, Cheddar cheese, beans, crème fraiche, chilli, and chipotle relish in a tomato tortilla wrap – as well as the Harissa Spiced Falafel Wrap (£3.85 | 222g), which has vegan-friendly spiced falafel with harissa houmous, spinach, mango chutney & slaw.
Promising an authentic taste of Italy, meanwhile, is the Irresistible Salami Mortadella Focaccia Sandwich (£3.85 | 218g) – Milano salami, mortadella sausage, pesto mayo, soft cheese, tomato, and rocket in a rosemary focaccia.

Savoury Pastries
The convenience retailer is helping to provide some quick and easy solutions for impromptu BBQ or party, such as to watch a Euro 2024 game or Paris Olympics event.
There’s Cheese & Onion Puffs (£3 | 96g), which are baked puff pastry parcels filled with extra mature Cheddar, cream cheese, and caramelised onions. The British Irresistible Ploughman’s Sausage Rolls (£3.50 | 188g) contains British pork, cheese, and sweet pickle wrapped in a flaky pastry topped with an onion crumb.
Lastly, the British Mini BBQ Pork Pies (£3 | 200g) have smoky seasoned British pork with BBQ sauce in crispy, hot-water crust pastry.
Desserts
The summer season wouldn’t be complete without some fruity fresh sweet indulgences. Co-op has opted for more British nostalgia in its 2024 range, such as the Raspberry & Peach Flavour Trifle (£3.50 | 600g) featuring raspberries in peach flavour jelly, topped with sponge, vanilla flavour custard, and whipped cream.
The Blackcurrant Cheesecake (£2.75 | 450g) is a creamy cheesecake on a biscuit base with a zingy blackcurrant topping, while the Irresistible Strawberries & Cream Cheesecake Slices (£3.50 | 2x74g) are vanilla flavoured cheesecakes on a digestive crumb base, topped with strawberry sauce.
