Chocolate-laden sweet bakery treats are abound like the Easter bunny this springtime, as to be eggs-pected.
Traditional Easter recipes such as Simnel cake and hot cross buns are also being rolled out in fresh new formats.
There are also some noteworthy flavour combinations playing out in limited-edition creations from bakers, such as rhubarb & toasted coconut or honey & lavender.

Chocolate and zesty cakes, Bettys
A newcomer for 2026 on Bettys’ Easter range is the Easter Nest Cake (rsp: £40). Measuring 18cm in diameter and 1kg in weight, it is a decadent Swiss Grand Cru dark chocolate sponge with ganache-filled eggs.
The Harrogate-based craft bakery also has a new Lemon & Passionfruit Cake (£35) made with a delicate yet indulgent pairing of zesty lemon and passionfruit with white chocolate ganache.
Egg biscuit tin, Biscuiteers x Gåva
Hand-iced biscuit specialists Biscuiteers has created a new biscuit tin in partnership with Swedish brand Gåva Gifting.
The Gåva Egg Biscuit Tin (rsp: £30) is available to buy online or at the ‘Icing Boutique’ in London’s Notting Hill, and contains nine vibrant egg-shaped biscuits in matching leopard skin print. It is said to have been inspired by the Swedish tradition of leaving out a tin egg each year for the Easter bunny to fill with sweets.

Simnel loaf cake, Cartwright & Butler
Another bakery brand with Yorkshire heritage is Cartwright & Butler, which has unveiled a Simnel Loaf Cake (rsp: £14) for this Easter.
Presented in a decorative green tin tied with a gold bow, the rich fruit loaf is packed with sultanas and marzipan baked throughout, before being finished with a layer of toasted marzipan.
Chocolate & peanut butter cake, Cutter & Squidge
The London-based sweet treat specialist has introduced a new Chocolate Peanut Butter Naked Cake for Easter this year.
Available for nationwide delivery in two sizes – six-inch (rsp: £49.99) and eight-inch (£69.99) – the cake comprises rich chocolate sponge layered with peanut butter buttercream, peanuts, and salted caramel encased in smooth chocolate buttercream and decorated with chocolate shavings and golden peanuts.
Returning to spring line-up at Cutter & Squidge are Easter Brownie Boxes (£21.99 for box of 12 or £39.99 for box of 24), which showcase four different seasonal flavours: Lemon & Blueberry, Lemon Tart, Raspberry White Chocolate, and White Chocolate Sprinkle.

Rhubarb, coconut, & meringue Danish, Don’t Tell Dad
Now entering its second year of business, Queen’s Park bakery/restaurant hybrid Don’t Tell Dad is offering an innovative menu of springtime bakes.
At a time when the forced rhubarb and field-grown rhubarb seasons collide, head baker Keren Sternburg has created the Rhubarb & Toasted Coconut Meringue Danish (rsp: £5.80). Other new highlights include the Pear & Tonka Bean Sfogliatella, the Rhubarb & Almond Scone, the Tahini & Chocolate Chip Cookie, the Spring Onion, Jalapeño & Almond Swirl, and the Wild Garlic & Feta Puff.

Cakes and gingerbread, Fiona Cairns
Signature fairy cakes, a classic Easter Simnel cake, and gingerbread lollipops make up the new Easter collection available on the recently launched online shop of Leicestershire-based cake supplier Fiona Cairns.
The Chocolate Easter Fairy Cakes (rsp: £8.50, six-pack) are chocolate sponge cakes topped with chocolate fondant icing and hand decorated with sugar paste and royal icing details. There are also golden sponge versions featuring bunnies, chicks, and mini chocolate eggs atop.
The Simnel Cake (£16.25) is a spiced, fruited sponge cake with an indulgent layer of marzipan baked within, topped and decorated with more marzipan. Lastly, the Gingerbread Lollipops (£3 each) are hand-decorated biscuits in choices of bunny, chick, or sheep design, each with a satin ribbon bow.

Speckled Egg Cookie, Floozie
Stuffed cookie brand Floozie returned to plant-based innovations following a departure during Christmas with its new Speckled Egg Cookie (rsp: £3.75).
This is a classic New York-style thick cookie packed with mini chocolate eggs, available online or from Floozie’s flagship Covent Garden store.

Crunch Cake, Haute Dolci
A luxurious take on this Easter’s viral social media recipe has been unveiled by luxury dessert parlour Haute Dolci.
The Crunch Cake (rsp: from £7.50) features soft moist chocolate cake, silky chocolate ganache, Nutella mousse, and crispy chocolate cornflakes, finished with mini cake pieces. It available for a limited time at Haute Dolci sites nationwide.

Tokyo Honey Butter Toast, Heavenly Desserts
Almost a decade before establishing Haute Dolci, Nizam Mohamed co-founded the premier dessert brand Heavenly Desserts with Mohammad Imran and Yousif Aslam.
For a four-month period starting from tomorrow (24 March), the company is introducing a Japanese-style sweet treat – Tokyo Honey Butter Toast – to its menu at locations across the UK. This is comprised of warm honey-soaked brioche toast topped with lavender cream, fresh raspberries, and edible flowers.
Cupcakes and cake, Lola’s Cupcakes
London-based brand Lola’s Cupcakes is helping to brighten up the Easter table with a range of sweet bakery alternatives to chocolate eggs, available for nationwide delivery or click and collect at its sites.
These include an Easter Cupcake Box (rsp: £23.70, box of six) which features a mix of vanilla and chocolate sponge cupcakes topped with buttercream swirls in pastel spring colours, and decorated with the likes of mini eggs and bunny motifs. There are also tiny versions (£27, box of 12) for sharing or an at-home cupcake hunt.
The ultimate Easter indulgence comes in the form of a Chocolate Loaded Cake (from £47.50) – chocolate sponge layers filled with chocolate mascarpone, topped with buttercream and ganache, and decorated with chocolate bricks, crunchy rocks, pretzels, truffles, Maltesers, and a sprinkle of golden dust.
Hot Cross Tarts, Lottie Shaw’s
A new Easter-themed twist on a tart has been launched by Brighouse-based sweet treat specialist Lottie Shaw’s.
The Hot Cross Tarts (rsp: £5.25, box of four) are made with a shortcrust pastry case, deep filled with golden treacle and sticky spiced fruit, then finished with a hand-piped white cross.
The Jacksons of Yorkshire-owned brand is also offering an Easter Tin (£23.95) complete with Yorkshire Parkin Ginger Biscuits, Triple Chocolate Biscuits, Chocolate Chip Flapjack, Traditional Oat Flapjack, and Millionaire Shortbreads. Or there’s a Large Hamper of Treats (£50) that has the above goodies plus Milk Chocolate Parkin Buttons, Hot Cross Tarts, Gingerbread Bunnies, Milk Chocolate Mini Eggs, and a white bunny soft toy.
Cake and brownies, Sponge
Norfolk-based online cake seller Sponge has created a showstopper dessert for Easter holiday gatherings. The Four Layer Mini Eggs Cake (rsp: £24.99) has layers of rich chocolate sponge sandwiching velvety milk and white chocolate buttercream, decorated with Cadbury’s Mini Eggs.
Its Mini Eggs & Triple Chocolate Brownies (£17.99, pack of eight) come in those two popular flavours and are topped with adorable seasonal designs including chicks in nests and bunny tails. A similar box of brownies is topped with egg designs.
All above treats are also available in gluten-free and vegan versions.
Croisnuts, cookies, doughnuts, and cupcakes, Wenzel’s
Bakery chain Wenzel’s has unveiled a cracking line-up of Easter-themed sweet treats with lashing of chocolate, caramel and more. These include:
- Easter Chocolate Egg Croisnut – buttery croissant-donut hybrid filled with smooth chocolate cream and crowned with a festive chocolate egg
- Easter Chocolate Egg Cookie – soft, chewy cookie topped with a layer of smooth milk chocolate and filled with a gooey crème egg centre
- Chocolate & Caramel Doughnut – chocolate iced doughnut filled with silky caramel, finished with a chocolate glaze and chocolate pieces
- Easter Gingerbread Bunny – soft spiced gingerbread shaped into a bunny and decorated with sweet icing details
- Easter Cupcakes – light, fluffy cupcakes swirled with pastel buttercream and finished with festive Easter decorations
