Snacking-brand Graze has launched a high-protein flapjack to capitalise on what it sees as a trend in protein consumption.
The Cocoa and Vanilla Protein Flapjacks each contain 9g of protein, or 18% of the recommended daily intake, and are available from Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Boots, Ocado, WHSmith Travel and a number of independent retailers for an RRP of £1.19.
According to the company, people are seeking to increase their protein intake for health reasons, and the flapjack is intended to cater for this.
The launch is part of a wider package of additions to Graze’s Good to Go range, which also includes Natural Energy Nuts and Spicy Thai Sirachi, which is a mixture of half-popped corn and peas. The range now stands at 12 SKUs.
Jess Scott, a nutritionist at Graze, said: “More and more people are getting clued up on the benefits of increasing the intake of protein into our diet, but not everyone wants to eat lots of eggs, protein shakes or chunks of meat - especially vegetarians!”
Last year, Graze announced a snack box partnership with London cake baker, Lily Vanilli.
