Bakery lovers can be truly treated this Valentine’s Day thanks to an amorous array of limited-edition launches from suppliers across the country.
Among the line-up for the most romantic time of the year are new cakes, doughnuts, biscuits, brownies, and pastries – there’s even new mini naans for those can fancy something other than sweet bakes.
We unwrap the giftable goodies from bakery brands looking to pull on the heartstrings of consumers this month:
Giant ‘I Love You’ Cookie, Asda
Priced at £7.98 and serving 12, this giant cookie is a highly affordable way to share the love widely on Valentine’s Day. It’s described as delightfully soft, scattered with chocolate chips, and hand finished with sweet ‘I Love You’ frosting and heart shaped sugar sprinkles.
The retailer is also sellingHeart Shaped Crumpets (rsp: £1.25) for a cheap but cheerful breakfast in bed.
Love Bites, Baked Earth Bakery
It may be savoury, but it can still be a sweet thought as a gift – Nottingham-based supplier Baked Earth Bakery has unveiled heart-shaped versions of the mini garlic and coriander naans it launched last year. Said to be perfect as a side, canapé, mini pizza base, for dipping, or as a party snack, the Love Bites are vegan-friendly and sold in packs of 20.
This limited-edition line is exclusively available at around 1,000 Aldi stores UK-wide as part of its Valentine’s range.
Baked Earth Bakery had a record year for NPD in 2025, launching a total of 25 new products into retail and foodservice sectors last year. It also gained BRC AA+ grading for its facilities in the Lenton area of Nottingham, where it manufactures around 300,000 flatbreads, naans and other bakery products per day on average. Significant investment into operations is planned for this year.
Gingerbread and cupcakes, Birds Bakery
Having debuted a new cinnamon bun to kick off its first-ever range of French pastries at the start of the year, the East Midlands chain continues launching NPD in February with two sweet baked goodies to give customers that loving feeling.
There’s the Valentine Gingerbread Person (eat in £2.70, takeaway £2.25) featuring heart-shaped sugar decorations for buttons, and the Heart Cupcake (eat in £2.90, takeaway £2.40) topped with frosting, sprinkles and a chocolate heart.
Love Yourz box, Borough 22 Doughnuts
The London-based free-from doughnut specialist has crafted inclusive sweet treats to the help celebrate any loved-up occasion this month such as Valentine’s, Galentine’s, Pal-entine’s etc. The ‘Love Yourz’ box of six gluten-free and plant-based fried doughnuts (rsp: £34) includes different vibrant glazes in flavours of vanilla, lemon, lime, orange, berry, and cherry. Available for nationwide delivery throughout February, they can also be purchased individually (£6.49) at Borough 22’s new concession in Selfridges Foodhall London.
Each doughnut has been made at the company’s production space in Karma Kitchen, Bermondsey, using founder Ryan Panchoo’s signature recipe, which offers a crisp and chewy texture despite the absence of gluten and dairy ingredients. They are also kosher certified and halal.
Duo of doughnuts, Bread Ahead
Following swiftly on from making the Bakers’ Dozen list of top artisan bakeries in the UK, Bread Ahead has unveiled two new limited-editions doughnuts available from 13 to 17 Febraury at its seven sites across London.
Priced at £4.50 each, the flavour options include Raspberry, Rose & Lychee Jam, which Bread Ahead describes as a ’floral-fruity delight, bursting with romance’, and Coconut Cream with Pineapple & Timut Pepper Jam, billed as a ’tropical twist with a hint of spice’.
Valentine’s collection, Cutter & Squidge
London-based Cutter & Squidge, the reigning Online Bakery Business of the Year, has created a limited-edition range of sweet treats to gift your special someone this month.
Love Heart Cookie Pies (from £19.99 for three) are filled with ganache and salted caramel, and available in flavours of milk chocolate or triple chocolate. The Valentine’s Chocolate Selection Box (from £21.99) is in fact all bakery and includes a mix of baby biskies (cookie-cake hybrid), mini cupcakes, and macarons.
The Date Night Dessert Valentine’s Brownie Box (from £21.99) contains three squares each of four different flavours of fudgy brownies: Tiramisu, Strawberry Cheesecake, Classic Chocolate Truffle, and Crème Brûlée. There’s also a vegan and wheat free option for the brownie box, which comes with Honeycomb Crunch and Pecan varieties.
The Valentine’s Red Velvet Cake and vegan Valentine’s Chocolate Fudge Caramel Cake are both priced from £28.99, while ‘The Perfect Match’ Matchstick Box (£9.99) comprises six matchstick-shaped shortbread biscuits, dipped in white chocolate with a cranberry sprinkle. All items are available for nationwide delivery except the vegan brownies (within the M25 radius), and some can also be bundled with a Prosecco bottle in a luxury hamper (£64.99).
Valentine’s collection, Donutelier
Red berries feature heavily in Donutelier’s Valentine’s Day collection, which is available until 26 February at its Charing Cross and Carnaby Street locations. The range comprises a selection of laminated pastries, including:
- Berry Velvet Croissant (£5.40) – Butter Croissant with a rich flaky pastry, crème pâtissière and frutti di bosco filling, raspberry sugar crust
- Mixed Berry Danish (£6.50) – Pain Suisse pastry, almond cream base, vanilla ganache filling, fresh mixed berries, and a sugar dusting
- Strawberry Amour (£6.50) – Mascarpone ganache and strawberry jam filling, almond crumble, Chantilly cream, almond sable, and fresh strawberries
- Berry in Love (£6.50) – Vanilla ganache and frutti di bosco filling, crispy raspberries, crispy yogurt, Chantilly cream, fresh berries, and an almond sable heart
- Strawberry Cream Croissant (£7.20) – Butter croissant with a rich flaky pastry, strawberry jam, Chantilly cream, fresh strawberries, and a sugar dusting
- Raspberry Marzipan Swirl (£6.40) – This vegan-friendly swirl has raspberry and marzipan filling, fondant icing, raspberry jam, freeze dried raspberries and rose flakes.
Cheesecake and shortcake traybake, Just Desserts Yorkshire
The Regal Foods-owned brand further expanded its range of handcrafted desserts for foodservice operators with a new single-serve cheesecake and a traybake.
Dark Chocolate & Raspberry Cheesecakes – sold in packs of 16 individual items – feature a dark chocolate biscuit base topped with dark chocolate cheesecake and sweet raspberry filling, sprinkled with dried raspberry pieces.
The Raspberry Ripple Shortcake Traybake is portioned into 12 pieces and comprises classic shortbread topped with a layer of pink raspberry flavoured and white chocolate spread, also finished with dried raspberry pieces.
Valentine’s Social, Ole & Steen
Having just come out a new blackberry-flavoured pastry complete with bright pink icing, the Danish bakery brand has used pink icing and pink chocolate hearts to add a ‘touch of romance’ to one of its most popular existing lines, the Cinnamon Social.
The Valentine’s Social is available at all 26 Ole & Steen stores in London, Windsor, Oxford and Guildford until 17 February, with three size options – slice (rsp: £4.65), half (£12.45), and whole (£20.95). Ole & Steen is the UK trading name of Lagkagehuset, which runs a chain of over 140 shops in Denmark, the UK, and the US.
Caterpillar cakes and pancakes, M&S
The retailer has revealed a limited-edition Matchmaker makeover of its iconic duo caterpillar cake duo, Colin and Connie, for Valentine’s 2025. Sold separately for £7.50 each, the cakes are made with rich chocolate sponge, filled with special coloured chocolate buttercream, covered in milk chocolate and decorated with chocolate cupid wings.
M&S is also rolling out Red Velvet Pancakes with Chocolate Chips (rsp: £1.90 for a six-pack), which it recommends loading with fresh whipped cream, chocolate sauce and berries.
Valentine’s biscuits, Molly’s Bakehouse
A personalised message on a hand-iced biscuit is another new way to express unbridled passion for your beloved. Simply let the romance flow from your pen and onto one of Molly’s Bakehouse biscuit options such as a love heart, flower filled envelope, or bouquet of roses.
Should your own words not be forthcoming, you can always opt for one written for you such as “I like you cherry much” on a heart with cherries. Or perhaps you can get the bunch of four Valentine’s Rose Biscuits that spell out ‘love’. Prices range from £9.25 per biscuit gift box and are available for next-day nationwide delivery.
New Forest-based Molly’s Bakehouse has grown over the past two years from a small start-up making intricately hand-iced biscuits in a flat in Hythe to collaborating with global brands like Google, Nike, Disney, Ferrari, and Ralph Lauren on bespoke ranges. Last month, it announced a major expansion move into a newly fitted out production unit in Holbury.
Valentine’s range, Rex Bakery
Independent chain Rex Bakery, which operates three shops located in Ascot, Windsor, and Little Chalfont near Amersham, has handcrafted a limited-edition range of sweet treats to help share the love this Valentine’s Day.
Among these are a trio of eye-catching pastries – strawberry mascarpone croissant, passion fruit mango vanilla croissant, and Black Forest cross-laminated Pain Suisse. There’s also the ‘Love Cake’ comprised of vanilla mousse with raspberry insert on a vanilla cake base, as well as a pistachio shortbread topped with pistachio mousse and caramelised white chocolate insert.
Valentine’s eclairs, The Delicious Dessert Company
The creative chefs at The Delicious Dessert Company are embracing fruity flavours for spring with the ‘Love you Straw Berry Much Éclair’ being rolled out for Valentine’s Day. Available at Tesco stores, the éclair features choux pastry filled with strawberry crème pâtissiere and cream, topped with strawberry fondant and white chocolate lacing.
