Yeast manufacturer and fermentation expert Lesaffre UK & Ireland has named Clare MacLennan as its new managing director.

Stepping into the role with immediate effect, MacLennan brings with her over 13 years of experience in B2B food industry operations including roles at Aryzta and Peters Food Service. Her most recent position was as managing director of consumer operations at the Royal Mint.

Lesaffre said she brings strong knowledge from leading baking and foodservice companies, adding that her marketing leadership led those businesses to strive in highly competitive markets.

In her new role she will be responsible for overseeing the strategic development and operations of Lesaffre UK & Ireland and will lead the company’s mission to support the British Isles’ bakeries delivering innovative and sustainable solutions.

Lesaffre UK & Ireland is located in Worcester with a manufacturing facility, known as LFI UK, found in Hartlebury.

Marking her return to the food manufacturing industry, MacLennan said she was “truly honoured” to join Lesaffre and thrilled to be “back in the dynamic world of bakery innovation”.
