Morrisons has extended its £3 lunchtime deal with wraps and sandwiches inspired by cuisine from around the world.

Black Sushi Rice Vegan Wraps are among the additions available in-store now, while the retailer has also extended its premium ‘The Best’ range with a Katsu Chicken Pouch.

The news comes as research conducted for the retailer by global food trends agency The Food People revealed Brits are eating more foods from around the world for lunch.

“Customers have told us they want all lunch items included in our meal deal,” said Morrisons’ meal deal buyer Sian Ayling. “They also want more exciting foods, such as those they’ve eaten in restaurants or on holiday.”

Morrisons’ lunchtime products are made daily in-store, using fresh produce from around the stores’ Market Street area. The supermarket has more than 2,000 staff who make over 8.5 million sandwiches and snacks by hand a year - using speciality breads baked in the store that day.
