Dutch bakery equipment company Capway Systems has filed for bankruptcy, it has been revealed.

A company representative told British Baker this morning that they were unsure of the reasons why the firm, which is part of the Capway Group and manufactures bakery production lines, filed for bankruptcy last week.

They added the move would only affect Capway Systems’ operations in The Netherlands and not its UK division, which is based in Guiseley, Leeds, and was unsure how many employees this would affect as a result.

A source told British Baker that parts of the company had been declared bankrupt and a creditors’ meeting would be held in October to decide the future of the rest of the company.

Capway Systems produces a number of different types of bakery machinery, including dough processing equipment, conveyor systems, robotics and provers.
