Frozen food distributor Central Foods is tapping the health trend with the launch of its Katerbake beetroot and pumpkin flavoured rolls and wraps.
Available for foodservice operators, the 12-inch diameter wraps contain one of the recommended five-a-day fruit and vegetable intake and are suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
The distributor has also unveiled a new premium sourdough roll selection made from the bakery’s 20-year-old mother dough. The range features a mix of sourdough bread rolls in multigrain square, fennel and caraway seed, white torpedo and beetroot variants.
The releases meet food trends such as street food, healthier options and the “next generation of breads”, according to Central Foods MD Gordon Lauder.
“Our new KaterBake ranges are perfect for many of the latest eating trends and are both stunning in looks and taste,” said Lauder. “Frozen breads are ideal for caterers, as they deliver on the flavour and presentation front. It makes sense for caterers to have breads to hand in [a] frozen format.”
Central Foods, which is based at Collingtree, Northamptonshire, supplies more than 220 independent wholesalers, as well as larger national and regional wholesalers.
