New sweet and savoury treats have been launched in a limited-edition winter range by bakery supplier Delice de France.

Leading the offering is the Christmas Pudding Baked Cheesecake, which has a buttery digestive biscuit base layered with rich, spiced Christmas pudding cheesecake, finished with festive glacé cherries, cranberries, toasted almonds. It is said to be best served with a delicate drizzle of white chocolate.

Also among the festive offering are two doughnuts in Apple Pie and Chocolate Orange flavours, and a trio of muffins in Spiced Stollen, Gingerbread, and Cranberry & Orange varieties. These capture seasonal flavour trends in a treat that can be enjoyed conveniently on the go, noted the company.

Other sweet bakery lines include Shortcrust Mince Crowns, Puff Lattice Mince Pies, and a Rich Fruit Cake, which contains cherries soaked in sherry and is topped with marzipan and decorative icing.

The winter range features two hearty savoury options – a Christmas Cracker Roll, which is a puff pastry roll generously filled with succulent pork, tender turkey, tangy cranberries, and a savoury seasonal stuffing, and the return of the Pigs in Blankets Slice.

Last year, higher than anticipated demand for stollen saw Delice de France sell out of Stollen Muffins two weeks before Christmas Day. The rise in popularity of stollen was also echoed by Circana data, as reported in British Baker earlier this week.

This year, Delice de France has increased stock levels of its stollen, enabling outlets to maintain high availability of this key Christmas flavour. The London-headquartered business is further helping its customers maximise the opportunity with a new pre-portioned Stollen Cake, dipped in a smooth rum butter and finished with cranberries, pistachios, and almonds.

It is also introducing Mini Mince Pies, which are bite-sized versions of the classic treat with a decorative star lid, along with Mince Pie Slices (pre-portioned in 15 servings) featuring a buttery shortbread base, topped with fruity mincemeat and finished with a star of shortbread.

“Christmas is the most important time of year for the bakery category,” commented Delice de France CEO Thierry Cacaly. “Each year we strive to go bigger and better with our festive innovation and support our customers with effective ranging and competitive pricing.

“We’re confident this year’s range is our strongest ever, and we have upweighted our availability to help our customers drive sales and profits,” he added.

Delice De France is to support its customers this Christmas with promotions on festive bestsellers in bread, patisserie, viennoiserie, and sweet bakery, whilst reducing prices on both core favourites and more recent innovations.

The company has had a busy year of launching new initiatives including a new hot drinks concept, an ambient bakery delivery service for London operators, and an entry into the chilled ready-to-eat category.
