Pladis-owned McVitie’s will donate 5p of every pack of biscuits sold at Morrisons to young people’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent.
The two-week initiative will support young patients and their families with the increased living expenses associated with being diagnosed with cancer. Funds will also go towards expanding the charity’s specialist nursing programme.
McVitie’s has also sent some of CLIC Sargent’s volunteers a ‘big biscuity thank you’ hamper and biscuit medal during the campaign, and raised awareness of their stories through social media.
The biscuit brand said it aimed to raise £100,000 through the campaign.
“CLIC Sargent helps young people living with cancer in so many ways, which is why we are delighted to work closely with them and Morrisons, in the hope to raise £100,000 for the invaluable work of their cancer care teams,” said Laura Gamage, shopper marketing manager at Pladis.
“In particular, helping to fund a new nursing programme that will help train healthcare professionals to make a difference in patients’ lives.”
In May 2017, Pladis signed a pledge to change how it and its staff think and act about mental health.
