Booths has extended its partnership with Lovingly Artisan meaning the Kendal-based bakery will now supply bread to another of the retailer’s stores.
Following the refurbishment of Booths’ Windermere store in Cumbria, 11 of the bakery’s products will be available from the bakery counter. Open seven days a week, it will serve up an array of freshly baked Lovingly Artisan loaves, including speciality breads featuring ancient grains, ryes, malted barleys, white and brown sourdoughs.
This marks the second Booths store to stock the bakery’s products after the businesses struck up a partnership in 2022.
‘’I am extremely proud to have been involved with forging a relationship with such a special business,” said Booths buyer, Keith Parkinson.
“The care, passion, and knowledge of the team at Lovingly Artisan are the perfect mix to produce outstanding products, and it’s a privilege to work with them to offer such fantastic products to the customers of our Windermere and Kendal stores. Special people and special products the perfect mix and just what’s kneaded.”
Lovingly Artisan was founded 14 years ago by husband-and-wife team Aidan Monks and Catherine Connor with the aim of creating bread fit for the centre of the table made using organic flours and ancient grains. Since then, it has established a bakery hub in the Lake District on the outskirts of Kendal and another at Manchester’s Altrincham Market.
It has been recognised with a myriad of awards including being named the best artisan bakery in Britain as part of British Baker’s The Artisan Collective for two years running and scooping the top accolade at the Farm Shop & Deli Awards earlier this year.
Catherine Connor, co-owner of Lovingly Artisan, added that it was “amazing” that Booths invited them to provide breads for a second store.
“We first started to supply Booths’ customers at the Kendal store in 2022 and that relationship has grown from strength to strength. We hope that both like-minded businesses will continue to build on that relationship, as we share our passion for provenance and creating authentic healthy sourdough bread with their customers at the Windermere store,” she added.
