Jacksons of Yorkshire Staycation Promo

Jacksons of Yorkshire is offering £200 prizes in a new staycation-themed on-pack promotion.

The ‘Great British Breaks’ promotion is running now on the bakery’s core range of full-sized bloomer loaves: Soft White, Multigrain Brown, Multiseed, Super Seeded, and Bloomin Both.

A £200 prize is available daily for eight weeks, with each winner being entered into a final prize draw and one overall champion receiving £2,000.

To enter the campaign, which is live in stores until 9 October, shoppers need to purchase a participating loaf, scan the QR code on pack and enter their details. The promotion is being supported with in-store POS, digital and social activity.

“With staycations remaining a very popular option for British families, our campaign taps into that trend, handing out cash prizes to go towards a British break of the winner’s choice,” explained Jacksons of Yorkshire marketing and NPD director Helena Wright.

She added that new listings and increased distribution had helped drive growth in the brand. “It’s an exciting time for Jacksons and we’re looking forward to welcoming more new users into the brand as a result of this activation.”

Research has identified cheesecake as a popular choice for people on a staycation in the UK

Meanwhile, research from Bakkavor’s The Delicious Dessert Company found that 75% of Brits had opted for a staycation this summer.

The business found that the top locations for holidays are Scotland (17%), the South West (17%) and Wales (14%), while the least popular places are the East Midlands (4%), the East (4%) and the West Midlands (6%).

Staycationers were also asked about the first sweet treats they would buy while on holiday, with luxury ice cream topping the list (24%), followed by cheesecake (22%), doughnuts or yum-yums (17%) and shortbread (16%).

“It’s such good news that so many people are planning a staycation in the UK, and that more are treating themselves and their families during the break,” said Claire Smith, head of insight at The Delicious Dessert Company.

“With the summer season stretching on – despite the inconsistent weather – it’s wonderful to see how old and new tastes are coming together on the first staycation shop.”
