The Christmas holidays are jingling their way ever closer with bakers across the land revealing more goodies to fuel the festive cheer.

Ranging from cookies, cakes, and Christmas puddings to brownies, and bao buns, the seasonal innovations feature trending flavours like pistachio or dulce de leche as well as more traditional inclusions such as cranberries or gingerbread.

The London-based hand-iced biscuit specialist has unveiled its latest collection, which is being stocked in selected John Lewis stores and online just in time for Christmas.

Among the newly launched offerings is the Nutcracker Biscuit Tin (rsp: £39.95) featuring nine gingerbread biscuits including the Nutcracker, Sugarplum Fairy, and Mouse King characters. It can also be purchased as part of a hamper set (£78), which come swith a bottle of Prosecco and wooden Nutcracker decoration.

Other new festive options from Biscuiteers include the Gingerbread Merry & Bright Biscuit Tin and Nativity Christmas Biscuit Tin (£39.95 each), and the Luxe-sized Christmas Pantomime Biscuit Tin, Nativity Christmas Biscuit Tin, and Christmas Tree Decorations Biscuit Tin (£55 each).

Cadbury Mini Snowball Cookies, Baker & Baker

Baker & Baker has launched a new Cadbury Mini Snow Balls Cookie into the UK in-store bakery market. It marks the first winter-themed cookie from the sweet bakery manufacturer, which is seeking to build on the success of its Cadbury Mini Eggs Chocolate Cookie during the last two Easter periods.

The latest limited-edition cookie (rsp: £2, four-pack) is also to be baked fresh in-store featuring the Cadbury’s chocolate cookie dough, which is then packed with mini Snow Ball inclusions. It joins the three core Cadbury cookie flavours including Dairy Milk, Dairy Milk Caramel, and Dairy Milk Chocolate & Orange.

The exclusive licensing partnership with Mondelēz to manufacture and distribute fresh bakery products with inclusions of it Milka, Oreo and Cadbury brands was among the ongoing opportunities highlighted in a recent British Baker interview with Baker & Baker CEO Matthew Acheson.

Italian restaurant chain Carluccio’s has unveiled a new Marostica cherries and cranberry variant to its range of authentic naturally leavened panettone, available to order via its website.

The Ciliegia di Marostica IGP e Mirtilli panettone (rsp: £24.95) is crafted by artisan bakers in Italy’s northeast Veneto region, and is said to be bursting with sweet cherries and tart cranberries for a vibrant, jewel-like festive taste.

It joins Carluccio’s traditional flavours of panettone, like the Tradizionale, Cioccolato, and Limoncello. It can also be purchased as part of a £54.95 gift set, which includes a bottle of Bottega Opulent Gold Prosecco Brut.

Sweet and savoury festive bakes, Country Choice

The Sysco-owned in-store bakery and foodservice supplier has created two new sweet treats and four savouries for the Christmas season.

On the sweet side, there’s the new Salted Caramel Cupcake, which combines a caramel-flavoured sponge with a swirl of salted caramel icing and finished with a sugar crunch and chocolate star, along with the new Boston’s Chocolate Orange Doughnut, which pairs rich chocolate icing with a zesty orange flavour topped with a chocolate orange segment. The Boston’s Doughnuts brand was launched last year.

New puff pastry savouries include the Jerk Turkey Bake (spicy jerk turkey with mango chutney and cranberry sauce); the Festive Bake (chicken, sage onion stuffing, and cranberries in a creamy sauce); the Festive Sausage Roll (seasoned pork, turkey, smoked pancetta, cranberries, and sage & onion stuffing); and the Caramelised Onion & Camembert Tart.

A cracker packed with six brownies (rsp: £25) is among the range of sweet bakery delights rolled out by London-based retail brand Lola’s Cupcakes for Christmas 2025.

Brownie flavours featured in each cracker include Original Chocolate, Chocolate Raspberry, Chocolate Hazelnut, and Pistachio Crunch, with two choices of packaging design available – light blue or dark blue. They can be ordered via the Lola’s Cupcakes website.

The festive line-up also features the likes of a Christmas Layer Cake (from £29) in flavours of vanilla, chocolate or gingerbread sponge covered in bright buttercream and adorned with gingerbread men, mini gold houses and delicate snowflakes. There’s also Christmas Cupcakes (£23.70, box of six, gluten free and vegan available), Tiny Christmas Cupcakes (£27, box of 12), and Christmas Postal Cake (from £29).

Finsbury Food Group acquired a major stake in Lola’s Cupcakes in the summer, helping the bakery manufacturer mark its entry into the direct-to-consumer market.

Higgidy is serving up the flavours of Christmas all wrapped up in puff pastry with two new products for the festive season – Pigs in Blankets Inspired Sausage Rolls and French Brie & Cranberry Veggie Rolls.

The twin pack Pigs in Blankets Inspired Sausage Rolls see British outdoor-bred pork sausage meat, bacon jam and extra mature Cheddar cheese, wrapped in all-butter puff pastry and topped with an extra mature Cheddar cheese, parsley and dried beetroot crumb

The twin pack French Brie & Cranberry Veggie Rolls, meanwhile, are packed full of French Brie and extra mature Cheddar cheese with dried cranberries, wrapped in all-butter puff pastry and topped with an extra mature Cheddar and Emmental cheese, millet seeds and dried beetroot crumb.

These two new products are packaged in bespoke Higgidy Merry & Moreish Christmas packs, adorned with baubles and featuring touches of gold and festive florals in a seasonal design, alongside three other festive Higgidy favourites, Beachwood Smoked Bacon & Extra Mature Cheddar Little Quiche, Extra Mature Cheddar & Spinach Mini Muffins and six pack Beechwood Smoked Ham Hock & Mature Cheddar Sausage Rolls.

With an rsp of £1.50, the rolls are available now in the front of store food to go areas at Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Boots, while the Little Quiche, Mini Muffins and six pack roll festive packs are available at all retailers.

The food halls of M&S are selling Snowman Bao Buns (rsp: £7.50, 320g, eight-pack) under its Collection premium tier. Handmade and steamed to perfection, the soft pillowy casings are filled with a pad Thai of vegetables and rice noodles, meaning they are suitable for vegans.

Another new bakery item at M&S catering to Christmas parties is Mini Ham & Cheese Croissants (£7.50, 232g, eight-pack), which are filled with Serrano Ham TSG and Castilla cheese.

The high-end patisserie, adjacent to the five-star hotel in London’s Mayfair district, has made a seasonal twist on its luxury pain au chocolat.

The indulgent pastry (rsp: £6 takeaway, £6.50 dine-in) hides a trio of decadent fillings: rich dark chocolate, silky white chocolate, and smooth gianduja (hazelnut-milk chocolate blend). It is layered with a spiced cinnamon paste and finished with a gingerbread man, described as a playful yet elegant nod to tradition.

Pastry chef Nicolas Rouzaud has also created Mince Pies (from £4 each), Gingerbread Biscuits (£6), and Pain d’Epices a l’Orange (£7 for two) – a spiced honey sponge with orange, cinnamon and star anise, filled with candied orange and finished with an orange glaze. Customers can also shell out £100 for a Yule Log in flavours of Three Chocolate & Hazelnut or Orange & Almond Cheesecake.

Dubai Chocolate Yule Log, Paul UK

French bakery brand Paul is celebrating Christmas in style with a line-up of Bûches de Noël (aka yule logs) featuring trending or traditional flavours.

Top of the wish list this year is the Dubai Chocolate Yule Log (rsp: £29.95, six to eight portions) comprising layers of chocolate sponge with pistachio buttercream, kunafa, and chocolate curls, topped with crushed pistachios.

Alternative options include the Raspberry & Nougat Yule Log (from £26.95), the Chocolate Praline Yule Log (from £26.95), and the Chocolate Roulade (from £20.95). There’s also Mini Yule Logs (£6 each or £10 for two) which are smaller versions in Raspberry & Nougat and Chocolate Praline flavours.

The items are available for collection from 3 December across London, Reading, and Oxford stores – London postcodes can receive home delivery.

East Anglia bakery chain Two Magpies has leaned on the expertise of local business LillyPuds to produce a new Christmas pudding safe for vegan and gluten free consumers.

The collaboration (rsp: £16) is produced with the finest vine fruits, apples, apricots, almonds, and ginger, and blended with brandy and Brentwood Brewing Company Chockwork Orange beer. With over 50% fruit is added to the recipe, no mixed peel, and less than 5% added sugar, the pudding is described as scrumptiously light and easy to eat.

Bury St Edmunds-based LillyPuds has been crafting its Christmas puddings since 2015 and has built up a loyal customer base. “It’s wonderful to be partnering with another Suffolk producer sharing opportunity and the passion for food,” commented LillyPuds founder Alison Lilly.
