From automated cookie frosting machines to dough scoring blades, equipment suppliers have rolled out new kit to enhance bakery production.
There are also high-tech ovens as well as leasing options for new ovens, making it easier than ever before to run a tight ship inside a bakery space.
Check out our round-up of the latest equipment and solutions innovations for the UK baking industry:
Oven leasing, Merrychef
Guildford-based appliance manufacturer Merrychef has launched a new leasing solution for its ConneX range of high-speed ovens for compact kitchens. Incorporating equipment, maintenance, and connectivity within a single agreement, the leasing solution is designed to eliminate downtime by offering unlimited service callouts, extended warranty, and optional accident cover for user error or misuse.
ConneX ovens feature microwave, convection, and impingement technologies that combine to offer up to 80% reduction of cooking times. Leaseholders are also given complimentary subscription to Welbilt KitchenConnect, which allows operators to remotely monitor oven performance from any device, review usage or production data, or simultaneously push menu updates across multiple sites.
Leasing is provided by Latitude Leasing Limited, an FCA-authorised and regulated provider, while all service and maintenance is delivered directly by Merrychef, which is part of US-based Welbilt’s portfolio of catering equipment brands.

Freddie The Frosting Machine, Primera Technology
First, they gave us Eddie the Edible Ink Printer back in 2023. Now Minnesota-headquartered printing equipment specialist Primera has introduced Freddie The Frosting Machine, an NSF-certified robotic frosting system that automates piping and flooding royal icing on cookies and confections.
Using digital vision tech, Freddie scans each cookie to deliver consistent and professional icing results on nearly any size or shape, taking around 60 seconds per unit. It also works seamlessly with Eddie, and features a smart carousel (12 items) and tray system (six items) for unattended production. Each refillable frosting tube can frost up to 35 cookies.

Scaritech bakery tools, Signature FSE
Kent-based equipment supplier Signature FSE has further expanded its offering for foodservice operators by adding a range of bakery essentials from French firm Scaritech.
This includes precision tools guaranteeing reliability, safety, and hygiene, such as bread lames (dough-scoring blades), specialist shaping mats, bannetons, baguette cloths and storage containers. Scaritech has a focus on ergonomics and sustainability, using plastic injection moulding to create its food-grade memory plastic blade handles from 100% recyclable materials. They are available in packs of 100, with a 20-year guarantee.
Signature FSE is also the master distributor for De Buyer’s bakeware and cookware in the UK, including the new Multi-Dough Roller launched for pastry chefs last year.

BakerLux Classic ovens, Unox
The brand-new range of BakerLux Classic convection ovens has become the latest addition to Unox’s line-up for UK bakers.
Unveiled at the recent HRC 2026 trade event in London, the BakerLux Classic ovens are said to bring together the heritage of Unox’s LineMiss and LineMicro ranges, now unified into a single, streamlined family. The ovens have been developed to deliver greater robustness, ease of use, and operational reliability in busy settings such as bakeries, minimarkets, cafés, and the convenience sector.
Last October Unox launched Bakertop Retail, a dual-chamber combi oven designed specifically for limited space environments. A couple of months later, the appointed Steven McGarvie as the new managing director for its UK division, succeeding Scott Duncan who has since joined catering equipment provider Hobart UK.
