Costa unveils bakery range for summer 2022

Costa Coffee has become the latest operator to unveil its range for summer 2022.

The coffee shop, which recently topped British Baker’s Bakery Market Report, is rolling out a host of sweet and savoury bakery items for the warmer months including tropical muffins, fruity tarts and chicken paninis.

It has also expanded the M&S range available in its stores following a deal between the two firms which got underway this year. The new Mac ‘N’ Cheese Sourdough Toastie has been added to the menu alongside existing M&S food including the BLT Sandwich.

Here are some highlights from the summer menu:

Lotus Biscoff Rocky Road

Costa is embracing this on-trend flavour with a twist on the classic rocky road. This iteration features Lotus Biscoff spread and crumb as well as marshmallows and sultanas all drizzled with caramel.

Passionfruit Tart

Fruity flavours are big this summer and Costa is going big on the tropical ones. This tart sees a pastry case filled with passionfruit ganache and hand dusted with freeze dried blackcurrant powder.

Flamingo Shortcake

Flamingos are in this summer, so much so that Costa has created a flamingo shaped biscuit.

Tropical Muffin

Flamingos also make an appearance on the Tropical Muffin, which comes in a brightly coloured case. The mango, passionfruit & white chocolate muffin is filled with mango & passionfruit curd and topped with icing and a miniature flamingo.

Roast Chicken & Bacon Toastie

When it comes to savoury, Costa is sticking to classic combinations. This toastie features British chicken, bechamel sauce, mature cheddar cheese, mozzarella and sweet cure bacon served on cheese-topped bread.

Chicken & Chorizo Panini

Another classic pairing is celebrated with this stone baked panini, which is filled with roast British chicken, a red pepper & paprika chutney, chorizo, mozzarella and mature cheddar.

Jubilee Muffin

Costa is helping customers celebrate the upcoming Platinum Jubilee with this vanilla muffin filled with raspberry jam and topped with buttercream and edible crown.

Chocolate & Caramelised Biscuit Loaf Cake

The vegan-friendly loaf cake comprises a chocolate sponge topped with frosting, caramelised biscuit sauce and caramelised biscuit pieces.

Blueberry & Frangipane Tart

This tart has a butter pastry base, a frangipane style layer and is topped with blueberries for an indulgent but fruity treat.

All Butter Sultana Scone

Costa is also serving up another British classic in time for summer – the scone. This All Butter Sultana Scone comes with strawberry conserve and clotted cream.
